Welcome to Year 4
Our Autumn Term Theme is:
Legends!

During the Autumn term, Year 4 will be raiding history with our  theme ' Legends'.  In science, we will be learning about the digestive system and the role our teeth play, as well as the teeth and jaws of other animals. In geography, we will be finding out about key geographical features on our planet, such as latitude, longitude, the equator and the tropics.  We will be refining our paint and colour work by changing the shade and tone looking at the Art of Anne Stokes.

Our Books this Term
In English this term, we will be using the books 'King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table’ by Marcia Cross, 'The Princess who hid in a tree' by Jackie Holderness and 'You wouldn't want to be an Anglo Saxon Peasant' by Jacqueline Morley  to inspire our writing. We will be writing a range of text types including narratives, riddles, non chronological reports and narrative poems.  We will also be using these texts to develop our comprehension skills focusing on inference and retrieval.
