Year 4

Welcome to Year 4
Our Block 3 Theme is:
Vikings!

During this final block we will be exploring the world of Vikings and the role they played in shaping Britain up until Edward the Confessor came to power. In English, the children will be reading 'How to train your Dragon' Cressida Cowell and 'Viking Voyagers' Jack Tite to help them write a film narrative, explanation text and a narrative poem. During geography lessons, the children will be developing their location knowledge of Europe as well as wider world. In History, we will be trying to answer the questions "What made the Vikings so successful in battle?" This will involve learning about fighting style, weapons and of course how they lived. During Art and DT, we will be learning about weaving as well as electrical circuits. Through our science learning, we will be exploring sound and electricity.
