School Development Board (SDB)

Introduction

Cam Woodfield Junior School is part of the Cotswold Beacon Academy Trust (a Multi Academy Trust) together with Berkeley Primary School, Callowell Primary School and Marling School.

In each school, the Board of Trustees has delegated some of its governance responsibilities to School Development Boards, with the provision that each Board shall comprise not less than 9 and not more than 13 local Governors, as follows:

  • The Headteacher
  • A minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 Parent Local Governors
  • A minimum of 1 and a maximum of 2 Staff Local Governors
  • Other Local Governors appointed by the Trustees.

The School Development Board meet 7 times during the academic year.

Mrs Emma Irvine

Emma lives and works locally in Cam as a self-employed designer. She has been a Governor at Cam Woodfield Junior School since January 2016 and Co-Chair since January 2017. In April 2022, Nicola Evered completed her term of office and stepped down from the role or Co-Chair and Emma took on the role of Chair.
Emma works closely with Mrs Bennett, the team of governors and staff at CWJS, providing effective leadership and strategic direction for the school.

Mrs Louise Bennett

Principal

Louise started with the school as a seconded Executive Headteacher in September 2017. In October 2017, Louise was appointed substantive Headteacher for Cam Woodfield Juniors. She has been a Headteacher for over 7 years and has been described by Ofsted in her last school, as having 'An Uncompromising Drive for Excellence.'
In May 2022, Cam Woodfield Junior School was inspected by Ofsted and achieved a GOOD Ofsted grading.
In April 2023, Louise was appointed as Acting Executive Headteacher of Cam Woodfield Junior School and Callowell Primary School.
After successfully supporting Callowell Primary School in 2023, Louise has returned to Cam full time as its Principal.

Mrs Jo Munyard

Jo Munyard lives in Dursley and has worked within education for 24 years. She began her career as a Primary Teacher and moved on to teaching within Further Education and Higher Education. Jo is a Senior Lecturer in Education and Early Childhood at the University of the West of England. She is committed to making sure that we have a safe, stimulating and caring learning environment for all children, staff and their families.
